Clinics We Offer

Vaccinations - All childhood vaccinations are presently given at our main site in Donegall Road. A clinic is held in each surgery once monthly. Please telephone for details. All adults are recommended to check their most recent tetanus and polio boosters are up to date. We can give these if required. All patients over 65 years old can have a pneumococcal vaccination and annual flu vaccination.
Vaccinations for travel can also be given.

We understand some may have questions or concerns about vaccines, but vaccines remain a very positive public health intervention.  If offered a vaccine, but have any queries, we would encourage you to discuss any concerns you might have with the nurse or GP.

Child Development Clinic - Held regularly in each surgery in conjunction with the health visitors. Please telephone for details.

Asthma and COPD Clinic - By appointment at Donegall Road and Finaghy Health Centre.

Cervical Smears - We would encourage all women aged 25-65 years to have a smear test every three/five years depending on your age group. Please make an appointment at your usual surgery. If you receive an invitation, please contact us at your earliest convenience.

Maternity Care - Antenatal and postnatal care can be provided during your pregnancy.

Family Planning - All the doctors have experience in offering family planning and pre-conception advice.

Warfarin Anticoagulation Clinic - Primary care of Warfarin doses using a software package.

Near Patient Testing Clinic - Monitoring of patients on specialised drugs. e.g. methotrexate.

Smoking Cessation Clinic - Practice Nurse in Kensington Medical Centre provides this service.

Annual Flu Immunisation Programme

We also have access to X-ray facilities, chiropody, community psychiatric nurses, community physiotherapy, community dietitians, speech therapy and occupational therapy.

BP Management Clinic

We have a senior nurse who holds these clinics weekly. This clinic is designed to support those patients, whose blood pressure is poorly controlled, providing comprehensive screening, advice and relevant medication.

Minor Operation

After initial assessment with the GP, depending on your needs, it may be possible to refer you to our local GP Federation colleagues for certain minor surgery procedures.

Lipid Clinic

This clinic is by invitation letter following review of routine blood results. The clinic is run by our GPs.  Primarily it deals with cholesterol levels but involves assessing risk of heart disease and giving lifestyle education as well a monitoring treatment.

Coil Fitting

These can be provided by our Local Family Planning site.  You do not need a referral from your GP, you can self-refer.  Further details at Belfast Trust Family Planning clinic.  Alternatively, we can also refer you for this, after an initial conversation with the GP, to our local GP Federation colleagues.

Baby Clinic

Childhood Immunisation clinics is held regularly by appointment.  If your child is unable to attend these clinics, please contact us at the earliest stage to discuss alternative arrangements.  

All children are checked regularly during their first five years of life. This will be done by the Health Visitor.  This gives the opportunity to discuss any worries or concerns they may have about their children 5 years and under. You will either be contacted by the health visitor or sent an appointment to attend at the surgery.  If you have recently joined the surgery, please ask us for contact detaild of our Health Visitors.

Our aim is to ensure you receive maternity care in the right place, with the right people looking after you and your baby. We would advise you to read the Now you are pregnant leaflet for birth choices.

We will be delighted if you choose the Maternity Hospital or Midwife-Led Unit for your care.
